Peritoneal Mesothelioma - Cancer asbestos lung & side effects

When a group of cells mutate out of control and begins to invade and kill healthy cells, this is called cancer. In some parts of the body where cells reproduce quickly it tends to be more likely to risk, because a single cancer cell can multiply exponentially in a very fast time. Most cancers are caused by external stimuli and mesothelioma is no different. Mesothelioma Cancer is caused by exposure to carcinogenic substances such as asbestos.

Mesothelioma is extremely unpleasant and permanent cancer that infects the membrane surrounding most internal organs. It is also a very subtle form of cancer providing only a few visible symptoms until it becomes extremely advanced. The most common type of mesothelioma is called pleural mesothelioma. It causes shortness of breath or chronic cough that can easily be mixed with allergies or a cold. In many cases, mesothelioma is discovered by accident when patients are research in these symptoms. Other symptoms of pleural mesothelioma include:

Pleural mesothelioma represents 75% of the cases of mesothelioma - but this is hardly the only type of this deadly cancer. Peritoneal Mesothelioma affects the lining around the stomach and intestine and is just as dangerous and deadly. Common symptoms include:
weight loss of o - size but can increase the size.
o pain or swelling in the abdomen - retention of fluid or the growth of the tumour.
o a bowel obstruction - blocking in the small or large intestine.
o anaemia - a reduction in the number of red blood cells to below normal; This forces the heart and other organs to redouble efforts to obtain oxygen where there is a need.
o fever

Usually, the first test by a doctor will use a device called a thorascope. The procedure is called thorascopy and is made by creating a small incision in the chest, a sample of lung tissue to see whether it is cancerous. This procedure is performed using local anesthesia in a hospital and will result in a small amount of pain. There is also a cheque for an excess amount of fluid may be drained to relieve pressure and reduce pain.
If these tests are inconclusive, it is more advanced test carried out as a computed axial tomography (CAT) scanning to give physicians a radiograph 3D tissues. This will allow doctors to analyze potentially damaged areas. Another option is an MRI (Imaging resonance magnetic scan). MRI will take photos of cross section of the internal structures to separate the healthy tissues of the malignant ones. These two scans allow physicians to be able to and see the potential dangers long before the patient feel any symptoms.
